A: You will only loose your hair if we are treating in the head region.

Q: Is it safe to be around other people while under going radiation treatments?
A: Yes. While under going external radiation you are not endangering others.

Q: How long will my treatment last?
A: You will be in the treatment room between 15 to 20 minutes.

Q: Do I have to come every day?
A: Yes. Treatments are given Monday through Friday.

A: Fatigue is a side effect of Radiation, but most people are able to continue with their daily routines.

Q: Can I drive myself?
A: Most patients are able to drive themselves to treatment, but check with your physician before driving.

Q: Does radiation therapy hurt?
A: No. Radiation is just like an x-ray and you will not feel anything while receiving treatment.

A: No. Most new patients are able to schedule an appointment within one week of calling.

Q: What should I bring with me on my first visit?
A: New patients should bring their medical records and test results with them or have them faxed to our office (815-722-2533) by their referring physician. We can obtain any tests done at Silver Cross Hospital.
